what you should know
What is your Photography style?
My aim is to maintain a down-to-earth, minimal and laid back style throughout my shooting and edits. You get taken back to the feeling of when you were in that moment, the photographs are tangible memories of a day in your life. I am intentional and genuine with the posing or prompting throughout the day, I do not want you to look or feel forced or out of the realm that you are comfortable in to get a certain shot. Most importantly, look through my wedding and portrait galleries. If you like what you see there, let's get started!
how far out should I book?
For sessions, I suggest booking 1-3 months out from the time you want to have your session. If you want a weekend session or you are booking around a major milestone or event (birthdays, maternity, newborn, engagement), I would reach out as soon as you know that you are interested. My calendar is pretty set ahead of time with my home life so I know my availability well in advance.
For weddings, there is no special window of time to plan your wedding here. You can reach out about a wedding next month or next year or two years from now, I am booking! The more popular months of May-November seem to book up the fastest so I would not hesitate there if those times of the year interest you.
what is due at booking
For sessions, half the session total is due to reserve your date and pricing along with a signed service agreement that explains what we both should expect from working together.
For weddings, 50% of the wedding package total is due at booking along with the signed service agreement.
How many photos are in the gallery?
As of September 2021 ::
For full sessions lasting around an hour, you can expect 60-80 high resolution images in your gallery. Your session package includes the digital/print release for 30 of those images with the option to purchase more if you wish!
For half sessions lasting around 30 minutes, you can expect 45-60 high resolution images in your gallery. Your session package includes the digital/print release for 15 of those images with the option to purchase more if you wish!
For mini sessions lasting around 10 minutes, you can expect around 30 images. Your session package includes the digital/print release for 7 of those images with the option to purchase more if you wish!
For engagement & newborn sessions, you can expect around 100 high resolution images in your gallery. Your session package includes the digital/print release for 30 of those images with the option to purchase more if you wish!
As for weddings, I aim to give you about 75-100 images per hour of wedding day coverage and you receive a full digital and print release for your wedding gallery.
What is the turn around time for gallery delivery?
Session galleries are delivered within 14 days of your session date contractually.
Wedding galleries are delivered in full within 8 weeks of your wedding day contractually, you usually get a sneak peak in the first two weeks and the rest isn't usually too far behind.
How do you protect & store the images before delivery?
Once your session takes place, the SD card that I used is locked and put into a waterproof/fireproof safe box. All image are imported onto my computer and into Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. They are then stored on a backup cloud and imported onto an external hard drive. Once your gallery is delivered to you and I receive the notification that you registered your email to access it, the SD card is emptied, the images are removed from computer, software and hard drive.
Your gallery will remain live (as of now) for life. If for some reason this changes, I will let you know as soon as possible in case you need to download anything to your devices. I strongly encourage you to download all of your images to your own devices and external hard drives and clouds as soon as your gallery is delivered.
What if my child cries throughout our entire session?
So, first and foremost, I am a mom of three boys. Three boys that do not always have the same enthusiasm as I do for things that mean something to me. So I totally get it if your kid is having an off day and doesn't want to be there. We will try our hardest and if we have to pick another day to try again, I am always up to working that out with you!
What if the weather is bad?
Maryland weather is always giving us a run for our money. If the weather turns on us, we reschedule to the next day that we are both available.
If the weather is poor during your wedding day, I am always prepared to roll with it!
Where do you shoot your sessions?
If you are local to the Kent Island/Eastern Shore of MD area, I have a ton of spots that I can suggest. My first preference is always your home or somewhere that has sentimental value to you. I would love to shoot in some new places so don't be afraid to suggest something different!
Do You offer discounts?
I offer a "Helper's Discount" for first responders (fire fighters, police officers, dispatch, and EMS), military (active and veteran), nurses & doctors, and teachers for both sessions and weddings. You just have to mention it!
There is always a print discount associated with the delivery of your gallery.
As of 2021, I also offer off-season pricing for sessions and weddings booked in December, January, February, and March.
Do you carry backup equipment?
I always carry an extra body and lens in the off chance something is to malfunction.
